The grounds were lush and green and just across from the beach. This beach wasn’t the touristiest. The reason we found was that it wasn’t a very good swimming beach and didn’t go over our waists at full tide unless we did a lot of walking out. But we had a really nice time there relaxing for the day and doing some walking and swimming. The mosquitoes had quite a feast too.
Since we were not spending long on the island we decided to go to another beach for the next couple of nights. So we went to Hat Rin which is where most people go. It is where the full moon parties are. There are a lot of shops, restaurants and bars and two beautiful beaches. Everything – food, accommodation is much more expensive here.
It took us ages to find somewhere to stay and we paid a lot more than we had at the previous beach but the bed and pillows were both really comfortable – something we have not found often.

It showered the whole time we were there so we didn’t do much swimming but had a nice time relaxing. We got a wonderful Thai massage and watched a few movies at restaurants. Most of the restaurants play movies. There were also these two restaurants directly opposite each other that both play ‘Friends’ all day and were always full. We hate ‘Friends’ so avoided these places.
There were lots of dogs around, but they were quite nice and not mangy looking. We also almost stepped on a snake outside our bungalow! Scary but very cool.
After two nights we started off on our big journey to Bangkok – left at 12pm from the island and arrived and Bangkok at 5am.

Hi Guys!!!!!
Great to hear from you again!!! And what a marathon diary entry that was! Thailand all in one go! Well sounds amazing, bummer you both got sick but it had to happen at some stage I suppose. I am losing track of all the places you have stayed, are you getting used to sleeping in different places every few nights?
Well things are more or less the same here, still cold but slowly getting warmer! Yay! Would love to be with you in warm Thailand right now! Keep us posted, can't wait to hear what you think of Bangkok!
Lots of love to you both,
Jessie, Isaac and Marli xxx
Cool to hear from youse and wonder how the health is? I have been to some of the places mentioned so your comments are bringing back memories. Long trip to Bangkok and quite some change in atmosphere coming up I guess. Swims and beaches sound pretty good from here.
